Report on AS excavation published in Cambridge journal.

The report on AS' excavation at the Old Great North Road, Water Newton, Cambridgeshire has been published in the latest edition of the journal Proceedings of the Cambridge Antiquarian Society.

The excavation at Water Newton, conducted in Summer 2012, recorded early medieval boundary ditches and some possible structural features. An apparent lack of activity at the site from the 13th century onwards was considered to be consistent with the theory that, at this time, there was a shift in the focus of settlement in Water Newton to an area further to the north, around the church of St Regimius.

This follows the publication, in the journal Norfolk Archaeology, of reports on a Saxon and medieval settlement site in Marham, Norfolk and complex urban stratigraphy in Norwich.
